Petronas offers bribe for LNG plant
Yesterday, the Malaysian state owned company Petronas, who has an abysmal corruption record , attempted to bribe one of our neighbours, Lax Kw’alaams, with $1 Billion dollars to allow them to build their LNG terminal on Lelu Island.
A terminal at this site may spell collapse for Skeena watershed salmon, as this site sits directly on top of the most sensitive eel grass habitat for juvenile salmon in the entire river system - Flora Bank.
Our camp is standing in the way of the TransCanada pipeline route that would supply this terminal, and we are not moving.
