

Progress on the Outdoor Kitchen
There has been a wonderful group of people working on the outdoor structure who are determined to develop Madii Lii. Over the long weekend weekend there has been a lot more work going on. The siding and cedar poles are being prepared today. We are making good progress on having the outdoor kitchen ready! #blog

Gitxsan Community Health Leaders Visit the Camp
We have had a wonderful morning with some of the Gitxsan community health leaders.
We started with smudging the group, followed by smudging our new long house.
This was followed by tradition song drumming, singing and dancing.
Spirits are soaring.
Connecting to the land is the best medicine.

New Building Going up at Madii Lii
Volunteers have been working on the newest building at the camp. It has been really coming together the last couple of weeks. Today, we got the frame up, and soon we will be installing the roof. By the end of the summer, we will have an outdoor kitchen up and running! #blog


Madii Lii at Paddle for the Peace
This week a delegation from Madii Lii visited Treaty 8 territory for the Paddle for the Peace. Our delegation learned about the proposed Site C dam and the impacts it is having on Treaty 8 communities. The Site C dam will electrify the Montney basin. The Montney Basin fracked gas fields will feed the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Pipeline to the Pacific Northwest LNG terminal site on Lelu Island.
Stopping the Site C dam will create a whole new batch of problems in the LNG
